Contribution guide

For now, message me through one of the mediums listed on my website or open issues/PRs on the GitHub repository to suggest changes.

I’m considering:

Migrating this to a MediaWiki site or directly adding similar features to this website to make contributing easier
Adding a section for relevant KPIs
Adding a “major events tracker” of major past events with their outcomes (such as AI Safety summits, AI governance-relevant UN dialogues, high-profile open statements, etc.), and upcoming events that are expected to potentially be important for international AI governance (such as the Trump-Xi dialogues on AI, future summits, etc.)

Any feedback is appreciated.

Go into more detail on insider policy work, as I suspect this to be the most important current gap in the site
Fitting more insights from “The current bottleneck is political will, not research” into the map
More on smaller/easier relevant policy changes, such as trying to answer “Why isn’t e.g. DNA screening mandated yet? What would best help change this? How does this tie into the larger goal of an international AI treaty?”
Evaluating the impact of different types of advocacy efforts and how they fit into the bigger picture, e.g. directly targeting lawmakers, collecting signatures on open statements, general public targeted stuff, etc.
Evaluating the impact of specific relevant orgs or projects such as PauseAI and ControlAI, how they fit into the bigger picture, what they could be doing better, etc.
Something about the role grantmaking plays, evaluating where additional funding for this work would be most impactful, how to convince grantmakers to fund this work, etc.
More on the specifics of the role China is playing, where they currently stand, how to get them more on-board with an existential-risk mitigating AI treaty, etc.
